Tiny girl helped a little with this one, but I got most of her “help” erased.
I said several weeks ago that I wasn’t going to be able to write it all… that I had to start drawing. And this was the first thing down on paper. I don’t claim to be an artist – my goal is just to get the images out.
I doubt I’ll ever have this tattoo. It’s a bit too obvious for a professional.
I have an aunt who said the women she knows who have tattoos here are former cutters. It’s a symbolic gesture for them. I’ve never been a cutter and don’t plan on it… but I think it would still be a symbolic gesture.
You know how people have nervous tics associated with embarrassing moments? Like when they remember a particularly unpleasant moment, they pound the wall, or shudder, or moan, or curse? Well, when I have a thought I need to shake, my left wrist aches and this image appears in my mind.
I’m neither Hindu nor Indian, but I am a yogini. OM is supposed to be “the sound of creation in the universe.” All I know about it for sure is that humming OM makes me feel well — and at peace.
